Dainty summer florals

My most recent hand drawn patterns, more to follow later in the week. This group of drawings have been developed from botanical source imagery and imagination, using mainly gouache and graphite, with occasionally ink & watercolour and of course put into repeat with photoshop! Chris & Jo's wedding invitations

My friend Jo asked me to help with some drawings for her wedding invites, and here's the results! The idea was cutsie birdies and lovehearts to go with a blue and white 40's theme. Imagine bunting galore, spotty tablecloths, and sweetheart bunches of pink flowers..

Jo chose the gouache and graphite drawing above of two bluebirds on a blossom branch. They were lovingly handmade by Jo, Holly and I by cutting & gluing prints onto cream cards, with handtied blue and white spotty ribbons and pale blue inserts! The other ideas are below.

Feb & March Journals

I started journalling in early Feb to do something with my collection of images and cutouts I had been hoarding. It's a compilation of pics that I found really beautiful, so it's all a bit eclectic.. I wanted to collate them in a way that made sense to me and have them together somewhere I would want to look at them again. I date the days I put together the pages and are posted in order.

I got the idea originally from the Lobster & Swan blog which has lots of imaginative collections of images. The Confetti Garden tumblr just makes me swoon, I wish I stumbled across such amazing pics!

Mine are collections from various current and past  copies of Elle, Vogues, Toast, World of Interiors, Country Living, various fashion and interior mags as well as papers & weekend supplements.

I see patterns everywhere

I wasn't looking for them, they just kept popping up wherever I looked...

If you were wondering where I took these photos - it was mainly Kew again I think..
