Inspirational Assyrian & Greek Sculpture

Such a lovely day recently exploring and drawing the sculpture in the British Museum. Here are a few pics of my faves, I always end up going back to the Elgin Marbles and Assyrian reliefs from 600bc.
The Elgin Marbles (don't take them awayyy!)
Assyrian Reliefs, I love them for their intricate pattern and decorative texture, It's hard to believe they were made in 650BC. It's incredible to have such beautiful treasures on our doorstep, and available to visit for free!

Bleugh, what is going on outside?! There appears to be a hurricane blowing a gale past my window! As an antidote to this bleary autumn here are a few summer brights to perk me up!

Watercoloury drawings

Some recent fun and girly watercolour designs. These were drawn freehand with  a fine water-colour brush and a little set of watercolours. I find it helpful to draw out designs first in pencil and then set about using colour!
